The Iowa Senate Seat in District 34 is held by Democrat Dick Dearden. Mr. Dearden is part of the Iowa legislature who this year passed a bill that wanted to change Iowa’s collective bargaining law by taking control of Iowa’s schools away from the citizens and school boards and leaving it up to arbitrators. Is this what we want for our children? He was also part of hijacking the funding of our schools by removing the local option sales tax in favor of a statewide tax. The local option tax would have come up for reconsideration more often, keeping the control in the hands of Iowans. Dick Dearden supports public funding of partial birth abortions *Amdt. S3476 to HF 909 and refused to sign petition to put Iowa Marriage Amendment on the ballot for the people to decide on *Rule 42 Petition. He failed to move immigration bills out of the subcommittee that he chaired *SF 423, SF 2257 and he voted for the smoking ban that placed lobbyists’ interests above small business owners *HF 2212.
Mr. Dearden’s competitor on November 4th is Scott Strohsal who thinks it is time Iowans took their government back. He believes that business owners should be able to decide for themselves whether or not to allow smoking in their business. He also believes that on the issue of marriage people should be able to vote for themselves instead of leaving it up to the judges. He wants to introduce legislation to punish employers who knowingly hire illegal aliens, and he wants to deny bail to illegal aliens. Mr. Strosahl believes that marriage is between one man and one woman and he is pro-life with no exceptions, and believes public funds should not go to organizations who promote abortions.
District 34 it is time to take your government back. The government belongs to YOU and not Dick Dearden. Scott Strosahl will represent you and your needs and work for you instead of you working for your goverment. Vote Scott Strosahl on November 4th.
